Week 2 DFS Recap: Alert level Lisa

Week 2 Recap

Well week 2 was a little better….. but not much. So far in the NFL season, predictability is not very high. But we’ve only got a couple days till week 3 kicks off, so let’s recap week 2 and later this week, take a look at Thursday night. Lisa Simpson has always been the cynical optimist in the family, worried about doom but hopeful for the good outcome, so thats where we are this week. Week 2 Thursday DFS Preview

Once again…. I hate the Thursday game! This game is a great example as to why: two offenses that sruggled to get anything done in week 1, both on a shortened week, both with major question marks n multiple positions. So let’s dive in!  Continue reading “Week 2 Thursday DFS Preview”

Week 1 DFS Recap: Alert Level – Willie

“I warned ya! Didn’t I warn ya? That chalk was forged by Lucifer himself!” –Groundskeeper Willie

I love The Simpsons, so until I get a cease and desist order from them, I’ll likely be using characters to indicate my alarm level week to week on my lineups. This week, the alarm level is Willie. Willie loves to make dire predictions and then gloat when they come true. I warned you all that early DFS was volatile and this week was just that! Let’s see how my lineups did:  Continue reading “Week 1 DFS Recap: Alert Level – Willie”

Week 1 DFS Thursday: Britt Hates Thursday Games

Let me start by saying, I prefer to avoid using players on Thursdays nights as a general rule. The shorter time to practice, the shorter physical recovery time (particularly as the season goes on), and the rush on coaches to game plan all factor in to less consistent performance and harder predictions when it comes to DFS. That being said, I did promise to post my thoughts on Thursday night games each week, and its time to discuss week 1. Continue reading “Week 1 DFS Thursday: Britt Hates Thursday Games”

Preseason Week 3: It Just Gets Weirder

When Craig and I hatched this podcast, we envisioned a hobby that we would do in our spare time. Record weekly, do the occasional written piece on the site, and share some of the knowledge we’ve accumulated over 50 years of combined Fantasy Football play. It would be fun! And it is, but then…. the preseason arrived.  Continue reading “Preseason Week 3: It Just Gets Weirder”

My furby will not shut up…

So you heard the Episode 10 of the Podcast and you heard I was drinking a ZIMA… YA HEARD ME! That’s right, I took a trip back in time to the 90s. There was no social media, (well no there was AOL Instant Messanger) to worry about and you still needed Continue reading “My furby will not shut up…”

Shove the Manifesto! Its a Fantasy Draft

No Manifesto! Just 5 tips to make your draft a success.

Do you know how many “Draft Day Manifesto” articles I’ve read this week? Every site, every prognosticator, every writer has one of these. Manifesto is such a serious word though, when someone suggests they have a ‘manifesto’, people like Karl Marx had a manifesto, people who hold rallies in college quadrangles have manifestos; fantasy football players should not have manifestos. A fantasy football player needing a manifesto to do well in their draft is about as much of an overstatement as an airline pilot needing a manifesto in order to fly a plane.  Continue reading “Shove the Manifesto! How Low Can Zeke Go (In Drafts)?

Craig and I have set up a pretty simple routine for our podcast. We record Wednesdays, proof and master on Thursday and then its scheduled for release every Friday morning at 7 AM local. Once an episode is scheduled for release, I usually sit back and give the weekend to let things develop, check out the preseason games and get caught up on news. This week, Continue reading “How Low Can Zeke Go (In Drafts)?”
