2018 Fantasy Football Industry Mockstravaganza

We were honored to be among a group of podcasters asked to participate in a twelve team mock draft. Mock drafting is a great tool to help you prepare for your own draft and when you get twelve of the best in the business to come along for the ride AND provide commentary for the first couple of rounds, that is a winning situation. So without further ado,we picked sixth, here is the breakdown of our picks including who went the pick before and who is on the clock. Links provided so you can just jump page to page and a link to the main page. Enjoy! Continue reading “2018 Fantasy Football Industry Mockstravaganza”

The Josh Gordon Conundrum

The announcement by Josh Gordon that he is utilizing “the resources available to me that will ensure my well-being on and off the field” and will not be at the start of training camp has left a lot of people openly wondering what his status is and what is going on. I don’t know what is going on more than anyone else, but I know a lot about anxiety, substance use and abuse, and mental illness (day job and personal experience) and I’m here to say its time to pump the brakes on the speculation. What the Hell Happened: An Apology and Schedule Adjustment

During episode 50, I promised a special episode previewing Best Ball and outlining my 2018 draft plan…. well that didn’t happen. Shockingly, people asked me about it, I knew we had people who listened faithfully every week, what I didn’t know was they actually [aid attention to my episode forecasting. So with the episode delayed or cancelled, I felt I owed you all an explanation.  Continue reading “What the Hell Happened: An Apology and Schedule Adjustment”

Podcast #49 – Jackpot Rankings

The guys are back and the camps are heating up. Will the drama in New Enlgand effect the Patriot machine? Are IPAs the Pumpkin Spice Latte of the beer world? What the Hell does ‘Our a$$ is in the Jackpot’ mean? Do the Julio Jones & David Johnson holdouts effect fantasy value? Is Antonio Brown right to Continue reading “Podcast #49 – Jackpot Rankings”

We are back for the second leg of our early rankings. On Tuesday, we took a look at the top ten Quarterbacks, today we will look at the top twenty running backs. As we will be doing more in depth analysis later, I’ll talk a little about the top ten and then list 11-20. Here we go!

Britt’s Early Projections: QB’s

Nothing says ‘Fantasy Football season is coming!’ like projections. The three months period where we evaluate, calculate and overthink every possible addition to our teams is one of my favorite of the yer. So, as Season 1 of the Football Fignuts Podcast draws to a close, here are my early season top tens by position. We start with QB. I’ll detail my thoughts about the top 5 and then brush upon 6-10. Lots of Guys (Mostly QBs) Can’t See the Big Picture

I’ve always been a preparer. If I can stay a couple steps ahead of trends and opponents in life, my chance of success increases. I’ve practiced it in my personal life, my professional life and absolutely in my fantasy football life.

A great example of this happened some time ago at work. Continue reading “Lots of Guys (Mostly QBs) Can’t See the Big Picture”

Grading the Draft: Britt’s Snap Judgments

Its the morning after the first round of the draft, I honestly fell asleep after the 12th pick partly because I’m an old man and partly because the guys I was curious about had largely gone. So having done ZERO research on what others are saying and no real research on it, I’m just gonna give you my off the cuff first impressions of the first ten picks. Remember, no research, no fact finding, this is gut check time:

The UConn Women Lost: And I’m Happy They Did.

I wanted to wait a day or two before writing about this. I’m a proud UConn Alumni. I was on campus in 1995 when the women won their first national championship. I can brag to having met several members of the UConn athletic community. I even have a funny story about the men’s team from 1997 that I tell at parties. But I am happy the women lost to Notre Dame the other night and that by itself is a controversial statement.  Continue reading “The UConn Women Lost: And I’m Happy They Did.”
